Claire Tamo is a finance professional with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, including a senior leadership role launching a healthcare start-up.
Claire joined Altais in summer 2019 from Colorado Permanente Medical Group, where she was Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Business Operations. Claire led finance and treasury operations, network contracting and credentialing along with business and risk adjustment analytics. Claire was also responsible for the operations of three medical group-owned subsidiaries designed to provide practice and clinical consulting services to international clients, promote and design centers of excellence among the Permanente Medical Groups, and provide certain clinical staffing to partner hospitals.
Claire’s start-up experience includes being the third employee hired to build Stanford Health Care’s medical foundation. As Senior Vice President of Finance and Business Support, Claire’s responsibilities included building the business capabilities for the start-up organization, ranging from finance, revenue cycle, credentialing/enrollment, and decision support functions, to creating facility design standards, facility consolidation and expansion plans, and managing the operations of 26 clinical locations. Claire’s responsibilities also included physician and MSO acquisitions, compensation model designs, developing and leading new entity integration, and onboarding.
Prior to Stanford and Colorado Permanente, Claire spent 15 years at Sutter Health as a finance leader in Sutter’s medical foundations, in home health/hospice companies, and at Sutter Corporate. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting form California State University, Fresno.
