OAKLAND, Calif. — July 22, 2026 — Altais today announced that David Cohen, MD, has joined the organization as Chief Physician Executive. In this role, Dr. Cohen leads Altais’ Health Value organization and advances clinical strategies that support physicians, improve outcomes and expand value-based care.
Dr. Cohen brings extensive clinical and healthcare leadership experience. Most recently, he served as Market President and Chief Physician Executive for Optum across Colorado, Utah and Idaho, where he led physician organizations and value-based care programs focused on quality, affordability and outcomes.
At Altais, Dr. Cohen oversees teams responsible for care management, utilization management, delegation oversight, pharmacy, quality and risk adjustment. He partners with physicians, care teams and healthcare organizations to strengthen clinical performance, improve care delivery and identify opportunities to leverage automation and artificial intelligence to enhance outcomes and support providers.
