At Altais Medical Group in Riverside, we believe great care starts with connection. We sat down with Family Nurse Practitioner Regina Robertson, MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP, to learn more about her approach to care, what inspires her, and what patients can expect when they work with her.
What inspired you to become a clinician?
My journey began while caring for my grandmother during her illness. That experience, along with a desire to grow and make a deeper impact, led me to become a Family Nurse Practitioner so I could care for patients and families across their lifespan.
How would you describe your approach to caring for patients?
My approach is patient-centered, with a strong focus on prevention, collaboration, and helping each patient achieve their highest level of wellness. I believe in listening carefully, without judgment, and working together to support your health.
What are you especially passionate about in your work?
I’m especially passionate about caring for the whole family—from infants to older adults. I value building strong, long-term relationships with my patients and supporting continuity of care as their needs evolve over time.
You have advanced training in mental health—can you tell us more?
Yes, I am also a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. This allows me to support both the physical and mental health of my patients and provide more comprehensive care.
What does “whole-person care” mean to you?
To me, it means treating each patient with respect, understanding, and compassion—addressing not just physical health, but mental and emotional well-being as well.
What do you want patients to know about working with you?
I want my patients to know that I truly listen, I don’t judge, and I strive to lead by example in promoting health and wellness.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy spending quality time with my family and traveling.
Anything people might be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve always believed I was gifted and talented, and I bring that sense of purpose and positivity into everything I do.

I am a compassionate, experienced clinician dedicated to treating the whole person with respect, understanding, and excellence.
